I have developed a deep fascination with the complexity of our nervous systems and the immense amount of information we process to shape our perceptions and experiences. This curiosity has intrigue so far inspired a
collection of three series of paintings: Finding my Voice, Perceptions before Awareness, and Experiences.
I am featuring Creative as my inaugural piece.
Creative interprets the essence of an inspired a creative experience, characterized by spontaneous movement,
vibrant colors, and open spaces. As I painted, I envisioned a cluster of inputs converging from birth to something new. The inspiration for this piece stemmed from several months of contemplation during the creation of the Perceptions before Awareness series.
My painting process is often described as “intuitive”—a space of spontaneity guided by feelings and perceptions that may not be fully conscious. It’s not strictly directed by defined ideas, but rather by a vague sense of direction, relying on perceptions that run deep beneath the surface. While the concept of capturing creativity lingered in my mind, the colors, shapes, and forms emerged organically as I worked.
Over the years, I have drawn inspiration from the Abstract Impressionist movement that followed World War II. Often referred to as “action painters,” these artists created large-scale works that visibly showcased their movement through bold brush strokes and paint drips.
This collection of paintings is an ongoing body of work, with future contributions planned.
Other paintings in the Experiences series include Joy, Sadness, Thoughtful, Darkness, and Intense.
